Innovation Challenge is an initiative by SEI to encourage the budding engineering talent in India. The idea behind this contest is to make students think "out of the box" and come up with solutions towards the different issues related to Energy & Automation sector. Last years (2006) theme was "Building Solutions" and the winning solutions were around "Building Automation", Intelligent Residence & Building Complexes" and "Innovative Building Solutions". The theme for Innovation Challenge - 2007 is "Energy Efficiency".

Pragma will be handling the media release around this contest this year. The objective Pragma wishes to achieve for SEI is to position it as a company that provides young people with the resources to succeed by supporting and encouraging young minds and stimulating thought processes towards solutions. This in addition to the various other endeavors SEI pursues on the CSR front, like the "Project Sahyog", a rehabilitation and development care program for juveniles and vocational trainings around them and "Project Chetna", that targets media and police on issues of street children and child centered advocacy.
